How Learn Dari Works: A Quick Tour
Take a quick tour of Learn Dari. See how vocabulary, grammar, lesson progression and free access fit into your first study session.
New here? Learn Dari gives you a place to practise vocabulary and grammar, one lesson at a time. Hereās what to expect, without the grand tour taking all afternoon.
Start with a free lesson
Create an account, then open the vocabulary or grammar track. The first three vocabulary lessons and first three grammar lessons are free. You donāt need to buy Premium to try them.
The rest of those tracks requires Premium. You can check the current plans and prices before deciding. Free access isnāt a free trial of the entire course.
Meet the words before the questions
Vocabulary lessons introduce the material before asking you to practise it. Reveal a meaning, look at the phonetic guide and get familiar with the word. You donāt have to pretend you already know it.
Phonetic guides write pronunciation using Latin letters. They help you get started, but they arenāt a perfect replacement for hearing a language or learning its script.
Give grammar its own little slot
The grammar track focuses on sentence patterns. Read the explanation before moving into the exercises. Taking a moment here is usually more useful than rushing straight to the answers.
You can work on vocabulary and grammar alongside each other. They have separate tracks, so your next step in one doesnāt depend on finishing the other.
Follow the lesson order
Lessons unlock in order within each track. Pass the previous lesson with at least 80% correct to continue. Premium opens access to the paid lessons, but it doesnāt skip the learning order.
The pass mark is separate from how individual written answers are checked. If a question seems unclear, use the lessonās report option. Feedback helps us spot problems.
Keep useful words close
Use bookmarks for words you want to revisit. The Word Library gives you another way to browse vocabulary outside a lesson. You can return to material rather than always chasing the next new thing.
Your signed-in progress is saved to your account. Use the same account when you return, rather than accidentally creating a second learning history.
A quick note about the beta
Learn Dari is still in beta. Lesson content is awaiting native Dari review, so please report wording or answers that need attention.
Available pronunciation previews use Iranian Persian synthetic speech, not native Dari recordings. Treat them as a limited preview, not an authoritative Dari pronunciation model.
The iPhone app is coming soon. For now, you can start learning on the web. Want a low pressure starting routine? Read how to learn Dari for free.
