Who we are
Learn Dari is operated by Welsenes Brothers V.O.F., KVK 77647157, Nieuwe Prinsengracht 92-2, 1018VW Amsterdam, Netherlands. Contact us at welsenes.brothers@gmail.com. Learn Dari accounts and learning records are separate from Learn Farsi.
Accounts and learning progress
Guest progress, vocabulary preferences, tutorial choices and review history are saved in your browser. Clearing browser storage removes local-only progress. When you create an account, we store your email address, profile details supplied by your sign-in provider, authentication records, bookmarks and learning progress in our Neon PostgreSQL database. Google processes sign-in information when you choose Google sign-in. Essential authentication cookies keep you signed in.
We use this information to provide your account, sync learning, prevent abuse and support you. Account and purchase processing is necessary to perform our agreement with you. Security and service administration support our legitimate interests. Optional analytics and publishing testimonials are based on your consent.
Payments and membership
Stripe processes payments, payment methods, invoices and subscription management. We do not store full card numbers. We store your Stripe customer identifier, Checkout references, membership status and verified payment-event records to provide access, reconcile payments and handle refunds or disputes. Stripe processes payment information under its own privacy terms. Transactional messages confirm account creation and successful purchases; they are not newsletter subscriptions.
Analytics and cookies
With your permission, we load Datafast to measure visits, traffic sources, pages viewed and conversions. Datafast receives technical connection information and uses visitor and session identifiers in cookies and browser storage. We do not intentionally send your account name, email, lesson answers or message contents to Datafast. We do not load its script until you accept optional analytics. Essential account and learning storage still works if you decline.
You can withdraw consent or change your choice using . This stops future analytics collection in this browser; it does not automatically erase information already processed by Datafast. Contact us about earlier data.
Email, support and testimonials
MailMoose is our intended email delivery tool for sign-in links, account confirmations, purchase confirmations and support messages, when configured. Where a Resend fallback is configured, Resend processes delivery instead. Support messages include your supplied contact details, message and any lesson report you submit. MailMoose messages include the reply address in the message body. Messages are delivered to our support inbox, currently hosted by Gmail. Email delivery records help prevent duplicate messages and investigate failures.
Testimonials are not published automatically. We ask for explicit publication permission and your preferred display name or anonymous attribution. Your email is not published. You can withdraw publication permission by contacting us.
Optional leaderboard
Public participation is opt-in. Your chosen username, rank, level, verified XP and streak may be displayed, but not your account email or profile name. You can hide your entry in leaderboard preferences. Signed-in lesson results send exercise identifiers, answers, a session identifier and your timezone for score verification. The result ledger retains identifiers, a fingerprint and activity timestamps rather than submitted answer text.
Pronunciation previews
When you request synthetic pronunciation, vocabulary text is sent to SpeechGen. We do not send your name or email with that request. These previews currently use Iranian Persian synthetic speech, not native Dari recordings. Generated audio is temporarily cached. SpeechGen processes requests under its own service terms.
Hosting, retention and international processing
Vercel hosts the website and processes technical logs. Neon stores account and application data. Stripe, Google, Datafast and our email providers process the information needed for their respective services. Processing may occur outside the Netherlands or European Economic Area. Applicable provider agreements and transfer safeguards must be considered for those services.
We keep account and progress information while your account is active. Deleting your account removes active learning records and queued account emails, subject to subscription safeguards and any records we must retain for accounting, disputes or legal obligations. Provider logs, inbox messages, billing records and backups have separate retention; deletion from the active database does not immediately erase every backup or provider record. We do not promise a fixed backup deletion period that has not been verified.
Your choices and rights
Use account settings to manage your account and deletion. Contact us to request access, correction, export or deletion of personal information, to object to processing, or to ask about retention and transfers. We may verify your identity. Where applicable, you can complain to the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens or your local supervisory authority. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out lawfully.
